I do Slimming World. Where are the Syn values for your recipes?
I don’t add Syn values to my recipes as Syn values change so often. I have hundreds of recipes on the site, and a full-time job and friends and family! I can’t go through and change them all every time Syn values change. It’s easy enough to work out, though – just add up all the Syns for the recipe and divide by the number of servings. Honestly, you can do it.
I want to start Slimming World. How does the plan work?
I am not going to tell you how to follow Slimming World for a number of reasons. One, I’m not a Slimming World consultant so I can’t give you advice endorsed by them. Two, if I give you advice and something goes wrong and you sue me, no-one will help protect me from your scary lawyers. Three, you usually have to pay for that information and if I start giving it out for free Slimming World isn’t going to be very happy with me. Four, the best way to get support and advice is to join a group and talk to your consultant.
I live in xxxx, how easy is it to follow the plan in this country?
I have literally no idea. I follow SW online, after years of joining groups, and that works for me. Maybe you can do that, too? I’ve only ever followed the plan in the UK and it’s been grand. If it’s in your country, it’ll probably be easy to follow to.
Why don’t you put calories on your recipes?
I don’t calorie count. I have generalised anxiety disorder – if I started counting calories I would obsess and I don’t think that’s a very healthy way to eat. I recommend calorie tracking software such as My Fitness Pal if you want to figure out calories.
